4th Degree Meeting Minutes

July 27, 2015

Meeting commenced at 7:08p.m. Church of the Ascension, Johnstown, Ohio

Purser Report:     Checking:                             $2,438.05

Chalice Fund:                          $605.00

Pennies for Heaven:                    $5.00

                                  Operating Funds:            $1828.05

Chalice Committee report: One chalice available. Researching purchase of an inexpensive Chalice.

Old Business:

• Chalice Purchase – John Endres explored purchase of an inexpensive ceremonial chalice. Found options in the $70.00-$100 range.  Decision to hold off on purchase for now, will look into it once we have a need since we currently have one available.

• Christmas Party – Motion to hold Christmas party at Tom’s house. Will have catered event at ~ $12-$15/head.  Researching providers.  Tentative date of 12/4.

New Business:

• Honor Guard for Ralph Downy – Participated in Honor Guard for Ralph Downy funeral Mass. Body was cremated.  Discussion held in regards to proper protocol.   Terry noted the need to determine a more solid answer for future instances.

• Blue Mass – Blue Mass will be held Friday Sept. 11^th at St. Timothy’s.1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43220.

• Spring Exemplification Color Guard – Looking for 5 members for Color Guard for Exemplification.

• Color Guard – Looking to form a standing Color Guard to be on notice for various needs. Hoping to get ~ 3 members per Assembly.  Contact Doug if interested.

Report of the 3^rd Degree:

• Church of the Ascension –
  1. Chicken BBQ / Square Dance held July 15^th.
  2. Will be doing annual Swapper’s Day poker table at Sportsman’s Club
  3. Parish Picnic Sept 13^th, 12:30pm Molly Pertee Pavilion
• John Neumann
  1. Awarded Founders Award for the highest % of insured within State of Ohio
  2. Awarded Power of One award for having at least one new member each month in the prior year.
  3. Parish Picnic will be Sept. 30^th after 11:00am Mass.
